Today we are very happy to be publishing the English version of our LinkedIn Canvas: the simple, one-page, visual tool designed to help you improve your Linkedin strategy.
NB: this is the preview edition: the PDF version is full of insightful questions that will help you with your LinkedIn strategy.
We’ll be officially launching the LinkedIn Canvas on March 9th during the Munich Creative Business Week at Munich’s legendary COKREA training venue.
Your LinkedIn presence enshrines your digital identity. Just search Google to see your LinkedIn profile appear at the top of the search results. Anyone looking for you online will see the same. With a single click, they land at the front door of your most important and interconnected “digital home”. But who exactly are they looking for? Customers? Recruiters? Colleagues? Partners?
Will they find something that engages them? Or will they simply take advantage of the convenient “other profiles like this” links and go elsewhere? The problem is that regardless of who visits your professional profile on LinkedIn, you can only tell them one story at a time.
RAPID BRAND AMBASSADORS DEVELOPMENT
This is even more true when you represent a company or work in a role that involves developing key relationships with both external and internal customers. Your goal is not to treat your LinkedIn profile as simply an online CV, but to use it as a tool for generating opportunities tailored to you and your company. It works even while you are working on something else.

Strategy + Profile
We have been using this Canvas, an adapted and simplified version of our Personal Branding Canvas, to quickly help our customers create LinkedIn profiles and content strategies in our own consulting projects for a couple of years. The LinkedIn® Canvas benefits from what we learnt while using it the Personal Branding Canvas in companies such as LinkedIn (!), Swiss Post, ABB, Sanofi, Allianz and IBM and in the Europe’s best business schools including SDA Bocconi in Milan, St. Gallen University, IE Madrid, ESSEC Paris, MIP in Milan and Bath SoM!
Thanks to our experience, our LinkedIn Canvas contains lots of tips to help you move from the “design” stage of your strategy to the completion of your LinkedIn profile. Obviously, it includes advice on the photo you should use and how to write the summary. Really though, these are merely cues to get you thinking. Writing the best profile possible means selecting the most relevant information and then transforming it into engaging text.
