After the publication of the new Personal Branding Canvas, we have received many requests for training opportunities from all over the world. Not an easy job for us since we focus only on enterprise projects. Luckily, because of the exceptional success of our free short event during the last Munich Creative Business Week (MCBW), Mercedes Hoss (co-founder of the gorgeous COKREA event location and longtime pioneer and organizer of many Tim Clark’s Business Model You Masterclasses) asked us to co-create the public International Masterclass on the new Personal Branding Canvas (Friday, May 18, 2018 in Munich, Germany).

Mercedes witnessed the evolution of the Personal Branding Canvas since it was born an she decided to help us translating into German. It will be very useful in order to facilitate Geman speaking participants at the Masterclass!
We are really happy to share this brief interview about her experience with the Personal Branding Canvas.
When did you discover about the Personal Branding Canvas?
I met Luigi at our first Business Model You® Certified Practitioner Course in Munich in 2013. Luigi has since been very active in the Business Model You® community and we kept in touch.
When Luigi mentioned the Personal Branding Canvas, a tool inspired in the Personal Business Model Canvas, he was invited to present the first version of the canvas to other practitioners in Amsterdam in 2014.
The second version of the Canvas was presented at a community meeting in 2015.
Early this year, Luigi presented the latest Canvas version at the Munich Creative Business Week in COKREA.
How is Personal Branding Canvas connected to Business Model You?
Business Model You is the first step. Understanding my personal business model first (as is -> to be): what I do, who I help and why I do what I do (the so called professional identity) is a key element to design a clear and aligned branding goal and put that goal in context.
The Personal Branding Canvas gets deeper into the professional identity, the “value provided” and guides you step by step in defining a branding strategy, including definition of offering, reasons to believe, etc. to then define positioning, audience and communication channels.
The Business Model You and the Personal Business Canvas are design thinking tools, both walk you from design to prototype.
Tell us something about the last event at the Munich Creative Business Week (how it went, feedback, numbers)
The Munich Creative Business Week (MCBW) is an event organized by Bayern Design GmbH in the first quarter of every year, it is the largest design event in Germany, a cross-discipli
ne platform for companies with an affinity for design, designers, design agencies and all other people interested in design and engages more than 65,000 participants in substantial knowledge transfer and inspiring design experiences.
We at COKREA in our first year of operation did not want to miss the opportunity to participate as Location Partner and organized a series of 11 relevant events at one of which Luigi Centenaro was invited to present the newly developed Personal Branding Canvas.
Due to the Personal Branding Canvas’ relevance, the event was sold out very quickly, the waiting list was long and participation was overwhelming.
People really like this easy to use, yet sophisticated tool. The Personal Branding Canvas helps you understand your Personal Brand and how to improve it, even if you don’t have advanced Marketing skills. It helps to communicate what you stand for and to inspire others, because people don’t buy what you do, they buy WHY you do it.
With Luigi’s professional, friendly and fun support onsite, we felt there was appetite for more.
That is why we organized the Personal Branding Masterclass in Munich on Friday, May 18, 2018 in Munich, Germany and we are greatly looking forward to it!
Something about the German version?
Since the Personal Branding Canvas was not available in German by the time it was presented in Munich in March 2017, we “co-created” the German version. Which is now available for download!
